RAID log

A well-managed RAID log keeps your program on track. It surfaces risks early, so you can deal with them before they derail the project.

Keeping one up to date takes constant work, though. Updates lag behind, and time-sensitive risks slip through.

Tato manages your RAID log for you. As each meeting is processed, Tato extracts new RAID items and updates existing ones. Your team gets a shared log that's always current, with a full update history, and you can ask questions about it or generate reports at any time. A well-maintained log also gives Tato a clearer picture of your projects, which improves the quality of its signals and outputs.

Setting up your RAID log

There are three ways to add items to your log:

  • Upload a file — drop your existing RAID log into Tato chat and ask Tato to extract the items into your project.
  • Import from a connected app — if you've connected a tool like Jira, ask Tato to import your RAID items from it. See Use connected apps in chat to learn more.
  • Add items manually — go to the RAID page, click Create, and fill in the form.

Once your items are in, or if your project is starting from scratch, Tato takes it from there.

Extracting new and updated RAID items

Every project comes with automations that extract RAID items whenever a meeting is processed. They run for all your meetings across all your projects, with no setup needed.

Reviewing extracted items

After a meeting is processed, open that meeting's page to see its summary and the RAID items Tato extracted.

Review each Risk, Action, Issue, and Decision for accuracy. This keeps your log clean and up to date.

  • Dismiss an item that isn't relevant. If you dismiss one by mistake, restore it from the Dismissed section below.
  • Track an item that needs special attention. Your team will know to keep an eye on it, and Tato will pay closer attention to it going forward.
  • Open an item to see its details and fix anything outdated or inaccurate.

Working with RAID items in chat

You can manage RAID items in Tato chat using natural language. For example, ask Tato to:

  • Assign all critical Risks to a specific person
  • Change the status of several Actions at once

You can also ask about your RAID items to get a live report on where your project stands:

  • What are the top 5 risks that need my attention?
  • Give me a digest of my outstanding actions.

Pair this with automation routines, like a daily digest of outstanding actions delivered each morning, to keep you and your team accountable and on track.
