Reports
Reports — weekly status, monthly exec briefs, user story summaries — are a huge part of workflows for the people keeping the world's largest projects running. Anyone with Tato can create templates and run them against any project or timeframe.
The basics
Templates provide design, structure, and prompts. Keep them flexible enough to reuse across projects — they're quick to create so don't be afraid to experiment.
Reports are run against templates. Open any template, press Run Report, and pick a project and/or timeline to run it against. Reports can be shared directly with team members or published to all project members.
Building a template
The easiest way to assemble a template is to chat with Tato — ask it to build a template with paragraphs and tables. You can also add elements directly using the insert menu at the top.
Try a Title Card — it can include a logo and is a great way to brand the report while showing the project and date range.
Once assembled, press Run report and type run for <project name> for <time period>. You don't need to be exact — saying "run for Acme last week" works even if the project is named "ACME construction". You can also pick the project and timeline directly.
Working with reports
Once a report is run, you can:
- Edit any content directly
- Change the data sources and rerun it
- Control who it's shared with (approve and publish to share with all project members)
- Download a PDF or .docx
Scheduled reports
Set an automated schedule to run your reports. Once finished, you'll get a notification in Teams.
What's next

In the meantime: build your own template, ask the Tato team to share a starter template with you, or reach out with ideas.
