Connect your apps to Tato

Add an app like Jira or Confluence once for your organization. After that, each person connects their own account from Tato chat and can ask Tato to work in that app.

You must be an organization admin to add apps.

Before you start

Tato connects to each app with OAuth, the standard sign-in you use to let any other app access your account. You don't need to create or paste an API key.

You need two things:

  • The app's MCP server URL. This is the address Tato connects to. Find it for each app on Available apps.
  • Admin approval in the app. Most apps need one of their admins to allow or register Tato once before anyone can connect. Each app's page has the exact steps.

Open MCP connectors

Press Cmd+K (Ctrl+K on Windows) and search for MCP connectors. This opens Organization settings → MCP connectors. In Tato, each app you add here is called a connector.

Add the app

  1. Enter a name for the app, like "Atlassian". This is optional.
  2. Paste the app's MCP server URL.
  3. Press Add.

Sign in to the app

  1. Click the app you just added.
  2. In the Tools section, press Connect.
  3. The app opens its own sign-in page. Sign in and choose what Tato is allowed to do. You may need admin access in that app.

Choose what Tato can do

After you sign in, the Tools section lists every action Tato can take in the app, like "search pages" or "create issue". Turn off any action you don't want anyone in your organization to use. Tato never uses an action that's turned off.

Turn the app on for projects

Below Tools, open Projects and turn the app on for each project that should use it. If no project is turned on, no one can use the app.

Let your team know

Adding an app doesn't connect it for everyone. Each person connects their own account from Tato chat, and Tato only sees what their account can see. Share Use connected apps in chat with your team.
