monday.com
Tato can read and update boards, items, column values, and updates in monday.com. It can also search your account and create new items.
Setup: monday MCP comes preinstalled on every monday.com account, on all plans. A monday.com admin makes sure AI connectors are allowed, then a Tato admin adds monday.com as a connector. Each person then connects their own account from Tato chat.
Connect monday.com
Check AI connectors in monday.com
There's nothing to install. You only need to make sure your account allows AI connectors. You need to be a monday.com account admin for this step.
- Click your profile picture and select Administration.
- Open AI governance, then AI permissions, and scroll to AI Connectors.
- Make sure Allow external AI agents to access your monday.com account data is on and Public Hosted MCP is checked.
To limit which workspaces Tato can reach, go to Apps in the admin panel, open Permissions for monday MCP, and choose Specific Workspaces.
Admins and members can use MCP on all plans. Viewers can't. On Enterprise, admins can also let guests use it.
Add monday.com in Tato
Open MCP connectors in Tato and follow Connect your apps to Tato. Use this MCP server URL:
https://mcp.monday.com/mcp
When you press Connect, monday.com asks you to sign in and pick the account to connect.
Tool calls from Tato count toward your monday.com account's daily API call limit, the same as any other app.
What you can do
For the full list of actions, see monday.com's MCP tools reference.
- Quick lookups: ask for a board's status, find an item, or get a summary of what changed this week.
- Tasks from meetings: turn a meeting into items with owners, priorities, and due dates.
- Keep work current: update status, people, or date fields when plans change in a meeting.
- Cross-board questions: ask "What's overdue across all launch boards?" or "Which team has the most blockers?"
- Executive reporting: build weekly rollups of shipped vs. planned work, scope changes, and risks.
- Requests and service work: log incoming requests, link related context, and keep stakeholders updated through item updates.
- Documentation: write a spec as a monday doc and attach it to the related item.
- Multi-step requests: "Create a bug, assign it, set the severity, and post an update for the team."
Use it with Tato features
monday.com works best alongside what Tato already does with your meetings.
- RAID log: after a meeting, track the action items Tato extracted, then ask Tato to create a monday.com item for each one with its owner and priority. Post decisions as updates on the item they affect, and compare blocked items on your board with the risks open in your RAID log.
- Automation routines: run the sync without asking. A routine with a meeting trigger can update your board after every steering committee. A weekly routine can send your team a digest of overdue items and open risks by Teams or email.
- Reports: pull board data into a report template, so your weekly status report shows shipped vs. planned work straight from monday.com.
- Skills: save a prompt like "Sync this meeting's action items to our delivery board" as a project skill, so everyone on the project runs it the same way.
For example, a routine that runs after a meeting is finished, filtered to meetings named "Steerco", could use these instructions:
Find the action items from this meeting. For each one, create an item on the
"Delivery" board in monday.com with the owner and due date, or update the
existing item if one already matches. Then post a summary of what changed.
